The human body has a remarkable internal defense mechanism that is centered around the white bloodcells and the use of NaCl (table salt) within it. About 72% of the fat-free mass of the human body is made up of water. Human blood contains approximately 7-9 grams per litre of NaCl. White blood cells utilise this NaCl in a unique way.

A natural process

When the body comes under attack from invading bacteria and viruses, the body's sensory system immediately responds by sending increased numbers of a special type of blood cell, called a Neutrophil, to the invasion site where they encircle and destroy the invading micro-organisms.
